Weekend Update

More Bad News for Jeff Hardy
Photobucket
~The week just keeps getting better and better for Jeff Hardy.

After getting suspended 60 days by the WWE after failing the company’s drug and substance abuse policy, Hardy lost his home in a fire late Friday night according to a WWE.com article.

The article reports that no one was home at the time and that no foul play is being investigated.

That’s really unfortunate. The failed drug test is all on him but to lose your home and everything you own in the same week, now that just sucks. Hopefully, he can get his life back together.

~The show starts with Maria coming out and announcing that she is hosting the Smackdown Diva Contest, which is a continuation of the swimsuit competition from last week. Maria introduces the competitors, Eve Torres, Cherry, Maryse, Victoria and Michelle McCool and says that based on the text votes from the fans last week, Maryse received the lowest amount and was eliminated from the contest. Maria then explains that the remaining women have to go through an obstacle course, but the one with the fastest time didn’t matter because depending on the fan vote, even they could be voted out.

-Michelle McCool ends up with the fastest time and we all move on with our lives.

-Big Show steamrolls Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore in a 2-on-1 handicap match. He then tosses Jimmy Wang Yang out of the ring just like he did to Floyd Mayweather on Monday and to poor Brandon Hill last week.

-WWE Tag Team Champion John Morrison defeats his partner, The Miz, to win the last spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania.

-Finlay appears and says his son, Hornswoggle, will never be the same from that mugging he got from JBL a few weeks back and because of that, Finlay vows to make JBL pay.

-Batista had the WWE United States Title won in his no-DQ match with MVP, but Umaga, who faces Batista in a match at Wrestlemania, interferes and causes MVP to retain his title.

Photobucket
-The Great Khali & Chuck Palumbo defeat Jamie Noble and Kane

Photobucket
-The 3-on-2 handicap steel cage match featuring Ric Flair & Shawn Michaels vs. World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, Zach Ryder & Curt Hawkins, turns into a 4-on-2 match when ECW Champion, Chavo Guerrero joins Edge’s team.

The Undertaker, who faces Edge for the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania, “magically” appears in the cage and goes after Edge but the World Heavyweight Champ manages to escape the cage and win the match for his team.

That Smackdown Diva obstacle course was just useless filler but hey, at least Eve Torres is still in there.

I’m going on record right now and say that the Money in the Bank Ladder Match will steal the show at Wrestlemania. It’s got Chris Jericho, Mr. Kennedy, Shelton Benjamin, CM Punk, Carlito, MVP and now John Morrison, that lineup is just unreal.

I thought the MVP/Batista match was pretty good. I mean, MVP was getting beat down the whole match, but it was still pretty good.

Batista vs. MVP (part 1)

Batista vs. MVP (Part 2)

Big Show should not been allowed to have a real match ever again, just feed him small guys to rough up and toss out of the ring. I don’t think it’ll ever look as good as the first time I saw it a week ago, but Show throwing people out of the ring like that looks brutal.

I was hoping Shawn Michaels would turn heel on Ric Flair and leave him hanging in their match but alas, he “respects” Flair too much.
