~This week’s show starts the same as last week, with The Miz & John Morrison defending the WWE Tag Team Titles against Tommy Dreamer & Colin Delaney, only this time, it’s no-DQ so all weapons are legal.

Photobucket
-After losing all last week, Miz and Morrison pick up the win and successfully defend their tag titles.

-ECW General Manager, Armando Estrada, announces a 24-man battle royal at Wrestlemania 24, where the winner will immediately face ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero in a title match afterwards. He then goes on to name The Great Khali as one of the participates as he comes down to the ring for a match.

-Stevie Richards continues to be buried as he loses in two seconds to The Great Khali. Then Mike Knox, who lost to Richards a few weeks back, attacks Stevie after the match.

-Kofi Kingston beats Deuce

-Festus steamrolls Elijah Burke

-CM Punk beats Big Daddy V by countout to earn a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder match at Wrestlemania 24.

I actually enjoyed the tag match a lot more than I thought I would. Too bad Delaney and Dreamer didn’t win.

Listen to Shelton Benjamin on commentary during the ending of the CM Punk/Big Daddy V match. It’s funny, because I was thinking exactly the same things he's saying.

Wednesday Wrestler Spotlight

This week's Wednesday Wrestler Spotlight is on "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase.

"The Million Dollar Man" is one of the first wrestlers I remember seeing in the WWE (then called the WWF) when I was younger. He instantly stood out to me because of his evil laugh, which you can hear all over the first clip, and because he always had money around him.

Ted DiBiase, from what I remember, was one of the true a-holes of pro wrestling that you couldn't help (or maybe I just couldn't help) but cheer for. He had a cool type of arrogance about him, the type where you know he's a jerk but for some reason if you were a jerk, you wouldn't mind being like him.

He always wore these either shiny black or green suits, he had this finshing submission move called "The Million Dollar Dream" that for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to do for the longest time and after he beat someone in a match, he'd stuff a hundred dollar bill in their mouth. See what I mean, he's the jerk you'd want to be.

DiBiase's catchphrase was "Everybody's Got a Price", and he would use every opportunity he could to exploit that fact. He'd pay his way out of matches, he'd literally buy himself a win and he would also have fans do the silliest things for money.

DiBiase retired from pro wrestling in the mid-90's and I'm still find myself every now and then trying to imitate that laugh, maybe I'll get it down, one day.

2/29 WWE Smackdown Results

-Smackdown starts with The Big Show beating up on Joey Ryan & Jay Garland in a two-on-one handicap match. Show then gets on the microphone and says that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has no chance against him at Wrestlemania.

Photobucket
-Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore beat Deuce & Domino.

Photobucket
-Chuck Palumbo defeats Jamie Noble.

-Smackdown GM Vickie Guerrero announces Batista as Smackdown's representative in the Raw vs. Smackdown challenge at Wrestlemania 24 vs Umaga.

Photobucket
-Batista & Kane beat The Great Khali & MVP.

Photobucket
-Jesse & Festus defeat WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison in a non title match.

Photobucket
-A match between Big Daddy V and Balls Mahoney never finished because The Undertaker runs in and lays them both out. Taker then calls Edge out but Edge sends Zach Ryder, one of his associates, to "greet" the Undertaker instead.

Photobucket
-Undertaker wipes the floor with Zack Ryder to close out the show.

I thought Big Show was very good on the mic. He even mentioned Oscar De la Hoya and Mayweather's $20 million Wrestlemania paycheck.

Is MVP ever going to win a match again?

I thought the Palumbo/Noble match was really solid. Definately better then I thought it would be.

I thought it made no sense to have the WWE Tag Champs, The Miz and John Morrison lose to nobodies when they have a title defense this Tuesday on ECW against Tommy Dreamer and Colin Delaney. A win for Miz and Morrison would have gave them more momentum going into that match and if Dreamer and Delaney were to beat them, the win would mean a whole lot more. If everyone can beat your tag team champions, why are they the tag team champions?

WWE.com Provides News on Other Organziations
Photobucket
~WWE.com has recently started reporting news regarding other wrestling promotions such as TNA and ROH.

This is a big shock since WWE generally acts as if they are the only wrestling organization that exists and rarely ever make any mention of other brands.

It sounds like a good idea, but I'm sure a large portion of WWE fans don't follow wrestling outside of the WWE, so news on other promotions may not be that well received.

TNA Impact Goes Live
Photobucket
~According to a gerweck.net article, TNA is planning on airing a live episode of their weekly TV show, TNA Impact, on Thursday, March 27th. Impact is usually taped on Mondays and footage from that night's taping airs Thursday.

I think live shows definately have a better feel to them then pre-taped ones. Nothing is cut out or edited and you get to see and hear the crowd's real reaction to what's going on. Hopefully, this won't be a one time thing for TNA.

TNA Tag Team To Be Featured on MTV
Photobucket
~TNA wrestlers, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, will be featured on an upcoming episode of MTV's Made, reports tnawrestling.com. The tag team, also known as the Motor City Machine Guns, will help coach a high school student into becoming a pro wrestler.

Here's a description of the episode from an MTV press release:
"Chris Hendricks is a self-described "choir queer" who's sick of being stereotyped as weak just because he's gay. He wants to be made into a larger-than-life pro wrestler so he can prove to everyone that he's tough enough to take a punch.

With help from his coaches, Motor City Machine Guns Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin from TNA Wrestling, Chris will bulk up and learn how to throw a punch and take a fall. But with only six weeks of training before his first professional match, it's anyone's guess whether or not he'll be ready to rumble."

The show is scheduled for Saturday March 8 at 12 pm ET.
