TNA Lockdown Results
~TNA held their "most dangerous event of the year" last night. Why is it so "dangerous"? It's because all the matches take place in a steel cage, that's why. This is actually the first time I have ever seen a Lockdown PPV because...I've always decided to just skip it. Don't ask me why. Anyway, on with the show.
-The show starts with the Xscape Match for the TNA X-Division Title featuring X-Division champion, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Johnny Devine, Curry Man, Shark Boy & Consequences Creed.
-Jay Lethal, with a little help from his friend Sonjay Dutt, wins the Xscape match and retains his belt.
-Roxxi Leveaux beats Angelina Love to win the Queen of the Cage match and to become the #1 contender for the TNA Women's Title.
-Samoa Joe says he's not ready to retire from pro wrestling and predicts a TNA World Title victory over Kurt Angle.
-BG James defeats Kip James.
-After the match, BG and Kip bury the hatchet.
-But then Kip changes his mind and lays out BG.
-SUPER Eric & Kaz win the "cuffs in the cage" match by handcuffing everyone else involved in the match to the cage.
-Gail Kim & ODB defeat Raisha Saeed & TNA Women's Champion, Awesome Kong.
-Booker T & Sharmell beat Robert Roode & Peyton Banks.
-Afterwards, Roode doesn't seem too happy with Peyton Banks.
-It was pure madness in the Lethal Lockdown match between Team Cage and Team Tomko
-Team Cage ends up winning the match over Team Tomko.
-Samoa Joe defeats Kurt Angle for the TNA World Title
That arena was PACKED~!
It's about damn time Samoa Joe got the belt. The match started off a little slow but it picked up towards the end and was just awesome. There were points in the match where Joe really brought the whoopin' to Kurt Angle.
Curry Man should have won that Xscape match, not that I'm disappointed with Lethal winning the match and keeping the belt but Curry Man is far more entertaining.
I thought Roxxi Leveaux and Angelina Love had a solid match. I'm interested to see how well Leveaux does against Awesome Kong, plus I think Leveaux finisher is cool.
Kaz was involved in two awesome spots in the "cuffed in the cage" match. He hit a Flux Capacitor on Jimmy Rave and seemingly got tossed from the sky by Lance Hoyt.
SUPER Eric soaring off the cage and into the ring was pretty awesome too.
However, I think Christian Cage showed better form when he went for the same move in the Lethal Lockdown match.
The MVP of the Lethal Lockdown match was Rhino. Well, he really wasn't the MVP but he did pick up the win for Team Cage. I kind of lost faith in him after that horrible Elevation X match last month, but he was on point at Lockdown. I hope he moves on to bigger and better things soon.
Overall, I thought this was TNA's best PPV of the year so far with Angle/Joe hands down as the match of the night. Lethal Lockdown was pretty good and both women's matches were solid. I wonder how long Joe's title reign is going to last.
